C.S. Lewis: chronicler of Narnia

About C.S. Lewis: chronicler of Narnia

C. S. Lewis is the author of many different kinds of books, from fantasy and science fiction to more literary, even religious works. The work that has won him the most fame is his seven-book series, "The Chronicles of Narnia." Lewis was born in Ireland and later moved to England. After a career in teaching and struggling with religious doubt for much of his early life, Lewis converted to Christianity in the 1930s. His new-found faith would strongly influence nearly all of his later writing, including "The Chronicles of Narnia," which he began writing in the 1950s. In December of 2005, Walt Disney Pictures began its big-budget adaptation of this series with the release of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Book jacket.
